  February 2010 Study Watchtower - Millions Now Living 'May' Never Die

  just noticed that in the february 2010 study edition of the watchtower, they refer to the "millions now living will never die" talk in 1918, but they have changed the title to "millions now living may never die".

  only problem, they included the picture of the invitation to the talk, which says 'will'.. ooops.

  it's on page 16. enjoy.. .

  the spanish wt says "milliones que ahora viven quizas nunca mueran", they inserted the whole word Quizas (maybe/might). it's not as subtle as the english small word change, its a whole extra word! on the other hand, the picture still shows it in english so its harder to compare it while looking at the article

  speaking of that, why does such a big and important topic only get 2 meazly paragraphs in the wt article?? shouldn't it have a whole article dedicated to it, if not the entire issue??

  if only this would shake the apples out of the tree.

  but in reality, i think most, especially the younger ones who were raised in it and never knew anything else, will be more concentrated on converting the paragraph into their own words for a decent sounding wt comment, then on what the paragraph actually says, since they dont really care what it says anyway.

  either that, or they'll be too busy daydreaming about normal things during the 3 minutes it'll take to cover the paragraph, and the whole thing just slips by unnoticed.

  what is this INSANE new definition of the word "generation"?? anyone who's lived at the same moment in time is part of the same generation?!? so i'm part of the same generation as my grandfather! and he in turn is part of the same generation as his grandfather, and so on and so on. so really there has only ever been one generation of humans, since we all overlap????

  I imagine the 2075 study article will include the illustration of the shingles on a roof. "Although a single shingle is only 10 inches wide, it overlaps 5 inches with the shingle above and 5 inches with the shingle below to form a single roof. The generation of the anointed in the last day is like that overlapping roof."

  ha, good one! "and no one can say how big that roof is to be, so therefore it's imperative that we stay on the watch, as it remains evident that the end could possibly, maybe, somehow be sort of close"

  so if its not spiritually upbuilding, then that means that it really IS proof, and she knows it! coz if the proof wasnt really proof, then it wouldn't be "spiritually hazardous" and she could read it. so she doesnt want to read it because it might be true... so therefore, better not read it. ugh

  No one else fulfills the preaching of Matt 24:14

  as explained to me recently, only jehovah's witnesses are actively fulfilling matt 24:14, thus showing them alone to be the true religion.

  sidestepping the glaring issue of jesus stating that love would mark the identity of true christians, let's examine that notion.. .

  i have personally rebutted that opinion by stating, with accuracy, that many christians have a gospel ministry and manage to reach hundreds of millions of people across the planet with their message.. .

  Consequences of being a JW

  i've been thinking about what its like to be born and raised as a jw and the mistakes that parents make as an almost direct result of this cult.

  for one thing, the children are not allowed to think freely, and if they say or do one little thing their parents disapprove of, they are chastised and basically bullied into abandoning that thought or action.

  another thing is that no matter what you do, and no matter how good your reputation is among friends, teachers, administrators, etc if you don't want to go to meetings, and don't believe in this faith, they do what they can to make you feel lower then dirt for this and will often resort to verbal abuse, and sometimes violence to force you to believe in them and conform.
